What to Expect

Step by step — from completing the form to the day your companion comes home.

Step 1 — Complete the Form

When your companion passes — or if you know it's coming soon — fill in our contact form. There's no rush and no pressure. We'll ask a few simple things:

  • Your name and phone number
  • Your companion's type and approximate size
  • Where they are now (home, vet, or other)
  • Whether you'd like individual or communal cremation
  • Any memorial products you might be interested in — though you can decide later

Step 2 — We Call You

Once we receive your form, a trusted local crematorium will call you back — usually within 30 minutes. They'll talk through your options, answer any questions, and agree the next steps with you. There's no obligation and certainly no hard sell — just a calm conversation about what happens next.

Step 3 — Arrange Collection

Collection is arranged at a time that works for you. We offer quick collection — often on the same day, in almost all cases. The crematorium will agree the exact timing with you when they call.

The team arrives in an unmarked vehicle. They'll introduce themselves quietly, handle your companion with the utmost care, and give you whatever time you need to say goodbye.

If collecting from your vet, they'll liaise directly with the practice — you don't need to be there. Simply tell your vet you've chosen us and they'll handle the rest.

Step 4 — Cremation

The cremation is typically performed on the same day as collection, or the following morning — though we cannot guarantee a specific time as every situation is different. The crematorium will arrange this with you when you speak.

For individual cremation, your companion is cremated alone in a clean chamber. A unique identification disc stays with them at every stage — from collection to ash return — so you can be certain the ashes you receive are theirs.

For communal cremation, your companion is cremated alongside a small number of others in a shared, dignified ceremony. The combined ashes are scattered with care in a memorial garden.

Step 5 — Your Companion Comes Home

The return of ashes is arranged with you — typically within seven days, though this depends on the crematorium and the service you've chosen. They'll agree a convenient time to hand-deliver them to your door.

Your companion's ashes will be returned in your chosen casket or scatter tube, along with the certificate of individual cremation. If you opted for memorial products — a paw-print keepsake, engraved plaque, or memorial jewellery — these arrive with the ashes.

For communal cremation, you'll receive your certificate and, if you'd like, the crematorium can let you know when the ashes have been scattered so you can visit the garden.

Frequently Asked Questions

How quickly can you collect?

We offer quick collection, often on the same day in almost all cases. Exact timing is arranged when the crematorium calls you — they'll work around what suits you.

Do I need to be there for collection?

Not necessarily. If we're collecting from your vet, you don't need to be present — we liaise directly with the practice. If collecting from your home, most families prefer to be there to say goodbye, but it's entirely your choice.

How do I know I'm getting my companion's ashes back?

For individual cremation, a unique identification disc stays with your companion at every stage — from collection through cremation to ash return. You'll also receive a certificate of individual cremation. This traceability protocol means you never have to wonder.
